Welcome

Welcome to Georgia Tech’s SACS Accreditation and NCAA Certification Web site. This site serves as the Institute’s focal point for sharing all of the pertinent information involving the efforts and results in keeping Tech in full compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools’ Principles of Accreditation and the NCAA Division I Athletic Certification operating principles.

This site provides the foundation for a dynamic and collaborative environment in that it presents both a forward-looking perspective featuring on-going efforts across the Georgia Tech footprint as well as a historical view that documents Georgia Tech’s recent accreditation achievements such as the results of our 2005 SACS reaffirmation and 2006 NCAA athletics certification.

Many colleagues from across the Tech community are working diligently on our SACS Fifth-Year Interim Report for 2010 and also the Impact Report of GT’s Quality Enhancement Plan, “Strengthening the Global Competencies and Research Experiences of Undergraduate Students” that was a key part of our 2005 re-affirmation review. Your involvement and assistance are always welcome and will contribute to our continued success.

Accreditation standards continuously change due to improvements in higher education, efficiencies in governmental processes, and most importantly, in response to the desires of our primary constituency–the scholars of the 21st century. Because of that Georgia Tech eagerly grasps the opportunities to be among the top tier of institutions that are accredited under them. Our daily efforts and business processes can contribute to building a strong spirit of trust and keeping the focus on improving the quality of the student learning experience.

SACS accreditation and NCAA certification are important to Georgia Tech. Please visit this site on a regular basis to stay in touch with our progress as well as to offer your comments. Also you are invited you to contact any of members listed under the Leadership section to learn more about what we are doing in regard to accreditation and certification. Together we will continue to improve our global learning environment and there are always ample opportunities for all members of the Georgia Tech community to participate.
